lives of some of our fave gods....

It was just an innocent kiss. Nothing more. Just a bond between them.
A comfortableness that reassured friendship and trust. Just a kiss.
Nothing more. A happy moment shared, an impulse to express a shared
joy. Just a kiss. Just a kiss.

But as lips met and eye's closed in a brief touch, something...something
was sparked. Something was felt. Something passed between them,
through them, connecting them. And as they pulled away only moments
later, eye's locking for a brief moment in time, hearts ached at the
loss.
------------
I've got a funny feeling
The moment that your lips touched mine
Something shot right through me
My heart skipped a beat in time

There's a different feel about you tonight
It's got me thinking lots of crazy things
I even think I saw a flash of light
It felt like electricity
-------------
'It was just a kiss. That's it. It didn't mean anything. Why should
it? We're friends. We just hang. It's no big. Just a kiss. That's
all.'

Strife looked anywhere but at the god in front of him. His fingers
gently brushed his own lips, still feeling the kiss. So gentle, so
brief. 'Just a kiss.' He knew it couldn't mean anything. No matter
how much he wanted it to. No matter how fast his heart beat of how
shallow his breath came. It was just a kiss

It didn't matter that he had every curve and plane on that wonderful
body memorized in his minds eye. It didn't matter that his dreams were
haunted my the winged god. It didn't matter that his heart was already
lost to the God of Love. It didn't matter. It was just a kiss.
------------
You shouldn't kiss me like this
Unless you mean it like that
Cause I'll just close my eyes
And I won't know where I'm at
We'll get lost on this dance floor
Spinnin' around, and around, and around, and around

They're all watching us now
They think we're falling in love
They'll never believe we're just friends
When you kiss me like this
I think you mean it like that
If you do maybe kiss me again
------------
'So warm. So sweet. Why didn't I see it before. So soft. So right.
I can't believe I didn't see it, didn't realize.'

Cupid stared in disbelief at his cousin. How could he have missed it?
It was right in front of him the entire time. Right there and he didn't
see it. It was love, it was lust and affection. How could he have
missed it.

His lips tingled with electric shock at the gentle kiss he had received.
So soft. His dark cousin seemed so bashful, so lost. he wanted to
reach out, brush away the doubt and regret. He could feel the emotions
rolling off of Strife and he wanted to cry. Such love and devotion.
Such heart ache and despair. How could he have missed it.
------------
Everybody says we make the perfect pair
But dancing's as far as it goes
Boy, you've never moved me quite
The way you move me tonight
I just want to know
I just want to know
------------
Gentle hands reached out to slowly turn Strife's head to face the other
god. Cupid stared intently into his sad eye's. He could feel the
sorrow rolling off of the dark god. He moved closer, slowly drawing
Strife into his arms. He saw Strife's deep blue eye's widen with shock
and disbelief, but with a sigh he allowed himself to be enfolded in
Cupids arms.

"Why didn't you tell me?"

Strife closed his eye's as Cupids warm breath drifted over his cheek.
"Would you have believed me?"
------------
You shouldn't kiss me like this
Unless you mean it like that
Cause I'll just close my eye's
And I'll forget where I'm at
We'll get lost on this dance floor
Spinnin' around, and around, and around, and around

They're all watching us now
They think we're falling in love
They'll never believe we're just friends
When you kiss me like this
I think you mean it like that
If you do baby kiss me again
------------
Cupid let a small smile rest on his lips before moving in. His
movements were slow and measured, keeping his eye's on his cousin's.
Then they closed as he pressed his lips against Strife's own. He let
his mouth express his feelings and he moaned as he felt Strife wrap his
finger's in his hair, pulling him impossibly closer.

As they slowly pulled apart, Strife studied Cupids face with wonder and
intensity. He caressed his soft cheek and sighed. "Kiss me again."
