Challenge Description

Hi all,

I was listening to some songs the other day and I thought they would make a good challenge. I could just see the boys in the situation, know what I mean?

The challenge is simple, write a fic based around one of the following songs. Most of the songs have a lot of angst but it suited my mood!

If you actually use the song in the fic you get bonus points!

Song 1:

Built To Last

There are times that you can beckon
There are times when you must call
You can take a lot of reckoning
But you can't take it all
There are times when I can help you out
And times that you must fall
There are times when you must live in doubt
And I can't help at all

Three blue stars / Rise on the hill
Say no more, now / Just be still
All these trials / Soon be past
Look for something / Built to last

A wind held by the collar
Yes, a cloud held by the breeze
You can walk on coals of fire
But sometimes you must freeze
There are times when you offend me
And I do the same to you
If we can't or won't forget it,
Then I guess we could be through
One blue star / Sets on the hill
Call it back / You never will
One more star / Sinks in the past
Show me something / Built to last.

Built to last till time itself
Falls tumbling from the wall
Built to last till sunshine fails
And darkness moves on all
Built to last while years roll past
Like cloudscapes in the sky
Show me something built to last
Or something built to try

There are times when you get hit upon
Try hard but you cannot give
Other times you'd gladly part
With what you need to live
Don't waste your breath to save your face
When you have done your best
And even more is asked of you
Fate will decide the rest.

All the stars / Are gone but one
Morning breaks / Here comes the sun
Cross the sky now / Sinking fast
Show me something / Built to last.

Song 2:

Still, You Turn Me On

Do you wanna be an angel? Do you wanna be a star?
Do you wanna play some magic on my guitar?
Do you wanna be a poet? Do you wanna be my string?
You can be anything!
Do you wanna be the lover of another?
Undercover you could even be the man on the moon.
Do you wanna be the player? Do you wanna be the string?
Let me tell you something, it just doesn't mean a thing!

You see it really doesn't matter
When you're buried in disguise
Like the dark glass on your eyes
Though your flesh has crystallized
Still.... You turn me on
Still.... You turn me on.

Do you wanna be the pillow where I lay my head?
Do you wanna be the feathers lying in my bed?
Do you wanna be a color cover magazine? Create a scene?
Everyday's a little sadder, a little madder,
Someone get me a ladder!
Do you wanna be the singer? Do you wanna be the song?
Let me tell you something, you just couldn't be more wrong!

You see, I really have to tell you,
That it all gets so intense
From my experience
It just doesn't seem to make sense
Still.... You turn me on
Still... You turn me on.

Song 3:

You Win Again

The news is out, all over town
That you've been seen, out runnin' round.

I know that I should leave, but then
I just can't go, you win again.

This heart of mine, could never see
what everybody knows but me.

Just trustin' you was my great sin,
I just can't go, Lord, you win again.

This heart of mine, could never see
what everybody knows but me.

Just trustin' you was my great sin,
I just can't go, Lord, You win again.

This heart of mine, could never see
what everybody knows but me.

Just trustin' you was my great sin,
I just can't go, Lord, you win again.
What can I do, Lord, you win again.

Song 4:

Tore Up Over You

Ever since you been gone
I just cried the whole night long
Since the day you said goodbye
Left me sore, no lie, no lie

Tore up over you, and I just can't find my way.
Tore up! Yeah, yeah, yeah, tore up,
Woh-oh-oh tore up! Yeah, yeah, yeah, tore up,
Tore up over you, and I just can't find my way.

Never loved me like ya told me so
If you did how could you go?
It was you, not me, that left
And went away with someone else

Tore up over you, and I just can't find my way.
Tore up! Yeah, yeah, yeah, tore up,
Woh-oh-oh tore up! Yeah, yeah, yeah, tore up,
Tore up over you, and I just can't find my way.

Tell me what did I do
To make you go away?
Tell me what can I do
To make you come back to stay?

Tore up over you, and I just can't find my way.
Tore up! Yeah, yeah, yeah, tore up,
Woh-oh-oh tore up! Yeah, yeah, yeah, tore up,
Tore up over you, and I just can't find my way.
